Employment

Writing a resume

A common misconception is that when you write a resume you have to have your life history, everything you have ever done in it. Actually a good resume has only the most important things in it. They are: your name, contact details, education-what school/s you went to and what level you completed, any work history including volunteer work and what skills you possess that are relevant to the job you are applying for.

Going for an interview

It can be pretty intimidating going for an interview, all industries are different but with most job interviews there is a panel of 2 or 3 people who will ask you questions about the skills that you have to do the job you have applied for. It is okay to let the people interviewing you know if you are a bit nervous and ask them to repeat their question if you don’t quite catch what it was. Just remember the more prepared you are the more relaxed you will be, so find out as much as you can about the employer.
